In a little mountain town in Oak Glen, California, a man has started building his dream home. This home is being built up in the small apple community of Oak Glen, in the middle of a three acre apple orchard. The home, which will be built entirely out of containers will blend into the orchards and take on an appearance more of a barn for than an old upcycled shipping container. The home is designed to be moved, and shifted, and grown over the coming years as it's expanded to it's final form.
We've finalized permits and begun construction. Here is a short video that outlines the project, and more importantly the story of the owner. Check back for more stories and videos and the project progresses. We'll be pouring concrete in the next few days, then preparing the containers to be stacked on site.
